Summary

I am writing to express interest in a job as a cook at your restaurant. I have two years experience working in the catering department of GBA ships where I started as a dishwasher, moved up to a cook and was eventually a shift leader where I led the preparation of 1200 meals a day. I regularly followed recipes under the direction of the Head Chef but was also responsible for tweaking the recipe if it needed changes due to inventory shortages or other unforeseen circumstances. I have another two years working as a prep cook at Leo's Seafood Bar and Grill, which is a fine dining restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was in charge of preparing all the food like risottos, potatoes (in various forms such as mashed, scalloped, etc.…), breads and sauces as well as helping wherever I could as time allowed. I have a strong work ethic focused on both attention to detail as well as prompt performance, and I'm always ready to learn new skills.
