I am a safety-oriented individual looking to further my career in the mental health field. I work extremely well with others or on my own. I have 15 years of experience in customer service and 1 year of experience in the Mental Health field. I feel my skill set would be an asset to any facility.
I worked primarily in the Intake Department as a BHS, though I did obtain extensive experience on the Unit Floors as well. My tasks in Intake were to oversee greeting of and bringing the patient into the assessment area of the Hospital and to maintain not only their safety but the safety of assessing staff.
The intake of a patient would typically include collecting of all patient property and wanding down (metal detector) of the patient and anyone accompanying the patient into the Assessment Center. Once inside I would obtain vital signs (reported to charge Nurse) and then monitor the patient Q15 minutes for safety until it was time for the patient to be transferred to the Unit floor itself, at which point I would assist in the escort of that patient.
I would routinely facilitate the intake of Police Drop off patients, and Ambulance drop off patients as well.
As a PSI I worked closely with Charge Nurses and other Floor Staff to ensure the safety and well being of Patients. I was required to help de-escalate, or redirect troublesome patients as well as restrain them if necessary. I also completed Q15 rounds and any other pertinent paperwork as the demand arose. When a Patient needed to be sent to an ER I frequently would follow said patient and monitor the 5150 paperwork.
I was responsible for the safe loading of conveyed freight into trailers on the shipping dock.
I began with Walmart as a simple processor on the receiving dock. I generated labels for freight delivered to me by unloaders and then conveyed it to the shipping dock. Shortly after that I became an unloader (Forklift trained) and was responsible for the safe and efficient offloading of freight from trailers on the receiving dock to processors for label application and conveying. I eventually interviewed for and acquired a leadership role as my shift's only "Re-writes Clerk" which entailed researching stray cases and finding labels for them. In the event no label could be found, I would then "Re-write" the case to an appropriate Walmart store, with a designated discount. I was also responsible for keeping quality reports on all associates involved with the processing of freight within my department.
I operated a variety of forklifts to fulfill out bound orders and deliver freight to the shipping dock for loading and departure to customers.
Early on I was responsible for the safe moving of freight from one area of the department to the other for order filling via conveyor. Eventually I was promoted to Senior Associate and was responsible for the delegation of work to other associates to ensure efficient and swift processing of freight out of the department.
I then moved to the Receiving department where I was trained as a clerk responsible for the entering and filing of inbound trailers into our system. On the receiving dock I was also trained in the use of several types of forklift. (Stand up Crown RC, Slip, and Clamp. Crown Sit down, and ICE Sit down)
I worked in the kitchen and was responsible for the delivery and retrieval of food carts to nursing stations during meal times. I also assisted in the preparation of said food carts before delivery, and cleaning post retrieval.
