  • Rebuilt and serviced CNCs (Hardinge, Mori Seiki, Okuma, etc.), including ballscrews, turrets, servo drives, and hydraulic systems.
  • Performed ABB Cobot and FANUC robot adjustments, routine PMs, crash recovery, and minor programming.
  • Optimized IR fastener drivers, screw feed systems, and vision systems to increase part quality and throughput.
  • Studio 5000 troubleshooting.
  • Performed wiring, conduit installation, and electrical hookups during machine moves and new installations
  • Handled electrical repairs across millivolt instrumentation through 480V three-phase systems.
  • Maintained induction hardening equipment.
  • Supported Facilities maintenance as needed.

Engineering Technician

BorgWarner
07.2023 - 03.2024
  • Supported EV component lines, specializing in automated PCB soldering (conventional and vapor-phase).
  • Maintained soldering systems, stabilizing solder quality.
  • Adjusted robotic assembly equipment and sustained vision system accuracy.
  • Applied Studio 5000 for PLC troubleshooting and process modifications.
  • Partnered with Engineering and Systems Integrators on DOE studies, installations, and structured process improvements.

Automated Machine Operator

Multimatic
10.2018 - 02.2019
  • Operated robotic MIG welding cells, handling path checks, consumables, and weld quality.
  • Worked with Yaskawa and ABB industrial robots to ensure assembly line reliability and consistent part production.
  • Operated roll forming equipment, coil payoffs, overhead cranes, and presses in high volume production.
  • Built foundational automation and heavy manufacturing skills that fueled advanced maintenance work.

Education

High School Diploma -

Fremont High School
Fremont, IN
05-2010

Skills

  • Electrical & Controls: Troubleshooting from millivolt instrumentation to 480V three phase; motors, VFDs, PLC/IO modules, sensors, heaters, panels Experienced in wiring new machines and relocations, including conduit bending, pulling wire, and final hookups Studio 5000 troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley Rockwell) and basic G-code edits
  • CNC & Robotics: Mori Seiki, Okuma, Mazak, Muratec, Hardinge (hard turning), Haas, YCM, FANUC Robodrill; FANUC LR Mate/M10iA/SCARA, Yaskawa, and ABB Cobot & industrial robots
  • Automation Systems: Ingersoll Rand (IR) fastener drivers, screw feed systems (linear & vibratory bowl), Cognex/Keyence/Talsa Teledyne/IR IV2 vision systems, robotic MIG weld cells
  • Systems & Collaboration: DOE studies, new line integration, cross-department collaboration, Microsoft 365-based CMMS design (SharePoint, Power Apps, Planner, Teams, Power Automate, Power BI)

Certification

  • FANUC – Basic Robot Operations
  • FANUC – LR Mate 200iD Assembly/Disassembly
  • Okuma Machine Tool Academy – Mechanical Maintenance for Lathes
  • Rockwell Automation – Studio 5000 Logix Designer Level 1

Key Achievements

  • Restored production on a 30+ year-old CNC lathe by salvaging components from multiple damaged hydraulic pumps to assemble a functional unit, avoiding months of downtime and the added cost of sourcing a new old stock pump or replacement HPU.
  • Prototyped a CMMS in Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Power Apps, Planner, Power BI) to automate scheduling, route EHS notifications, and balance technician workloads; although discontinued due to a sales downturn.
  • Identified that all forklift battery chargers were set to a single profile despite varying battery capacities. Investigated further, and reprogrammed them to match the specific ratings of the batteries, extending battery service life and mitigating future replacement costs.
  • Proposed and implemented a shift variation to train the 2nd shift crew on proper techniques for tightening gibs and compensating for backlash on CNC lathes.
  • Designed and 3D printed a custom bushing to prevent screw feeder tube kinking at the inductive ring sensor, eliminating jams and failed parts. Created both single-piece and split versions to simplify installation.
