I care about learning new things and mastering them. Im constantly investing time into continued education electrical courses so that i can always have a leading edge with this growing industry. I have a wide range of different electrical experience.
In this meat packing plant we ran stainless steel rigid conduit due to being a food processing jobsite. I ran underground schedule 40 PVC to stub up above finished floor level so i can come back and tie in with stainless steel conduit. I pulled 3Phase circuits from our MCC room to various parts of the building where screw conveyors for transporting meat were located. I performed different type of terminations on motors depending on the required use of application. I ran a 8" core drill in order to pass through concrete slabs so we could then tie into our our switch gears. Pulled and landed 500s from our switch gears to our bucket breakers. We torqued and marked each lug and bolt termination.
Power Distribution for 277V lighting circuits, 480V circuits for 3 Phase 480V motors, 120V circuits for recepticles. Run busway for power distribution from local substation. 3/4 " & 1" EMT conduit were primarily used for these runs. Ran independent circuit for emergency lights and exit signs. Installed breakers into 277V/480V and 120V/208V panels. In some cases we had to derate wire and up size our pipe to remain within code.
Daily normal tasks will include running EMT, pulling wire, and performing terminations. At this job its been mostly low voltage control works for different types of instrumentation devices needed for the manufacturing process. I have a little over 2 and a half years of low voltage control terminations examples VFD, DCS, and PDU. Im very familiar with terminating in DCS using the I/O list for where terminations need to be made. Along with these daily tasks i would run stainless steel tubing for different instruments.
At this chemical plant we were only contracted for overnight wire pull. I quickly got recognition from within the rest of my co-workers and got tasked to lead man responsibilities. Once the night wire pull contract job was over i got offered to continue to stay and transfer to the day shift to work in the substations. While working in the substations we were tasked with the installations of medium voltage switchgears. While Working inside the substation i was able to get hands on experience terminating Power cells and running back up batteries in series.
On a normal day to day basis we would run ridgid conduit using a mechanical bender. Im used to working with the ridgid 535 threader machine and the ridgid power pony for our conduit running process. We would set up, fabricate, and mount various size cable tray. We pulled different size wires from 10AWG all the way up to size 750 KCMIL wire. Run and mount explosion proof lighting fixtures on different parts of the chemical plants. Ive installed different types of lighting fixtures depending on what area and environment the fixture is to be placed. Ive ran grounding rods and C crimp them to to create a good bonding connection to the grounding grid. Ive have experience in PLC cabinet terminations. I can identify and install different types of NEMA enclosure depending on locations.
