I entered the workforce in 2005 upon graduating high school and began working for my fathers small businesses with American Ramp Systems. Here I learned basic use of tools and how to install handicap ramps in compliance with all government regulations. In 2012 I began work for R.A. Haitz Inc with very little roofing experience. The fast paced environment was a bit of an adjustment but I learned quickly the proper way to install, repair and maintain TPO, EPDM, Duro-last, and asphalt roofing systems. We were required to travel out of state and meet deadlines. Due to the pressure of meeting these deadlines I learned that maintaining a positive attitude is crucial to the work environment as a whole. Cracking jokes and maintaining a positive relationship with my coworkers, while collaborating with the other trades on site in a professional manner made the long trips easier. Time away from my growing family made working away from difficult which led me to seek employment closer to home. In 2016 I joined Real Renovations. Here I grew my skills as a roofer and over time took on more responsibilities that you could say was a leadership role without a title of leadership as my employer is very hands on at every project. One of my responsibilities is to respond to service and repair calls and interact with clients. I've been entrusted with a company vehicle, and have been given the opportunity to work solo and with a team. While I do have healthy relationship with my employer, he is getting close to retirement age, and it is now time step out and and bring the skills I've acquired to better myself.
