BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide a range of services to students, teachers, administrators, and other school personnel, families, community, and regional agencies which support the educational process. The intent of these services is to facilitate learning through psycho-educational evaluation, consultation services, behavior support services, counseling services, and promotion of mental health and wellness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations (e.g. cognitive abilities, adaptive skills and development, social/emotional development, mental health status, learning environments, aptitude for learning, and psychological processing) to determine all areas of eligibility for Special Education Services.

  • Counsels students on an individual basis (e.g. academics, social/emotional development, general vocational goals, problems related to learning and school adjustment, etc.).
  • Participate with school and district teams to provide crisis management and counseling intervention.
  • Collaborate with school staff and community agencies to provide services directed at improving psychological and physical health.
