Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist assistant I became the youngest Foreman on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. The Arthur Ravenel Bridge was, at its opening, the longest cable stay bridge in North America and the tallest structure in South Carolina. I was able to achieve this position due to my critical thinking abilities, ability to manage people from different backgrounds and get our project completed months ahead of deadline.
After working on the Ravenel Bridge I took on a sales position for Rockford Steel Buildings. Within 2 months I became the areas top sales associate and was promoted to Regional Manager. My duties included talking with Dealers (building contractors) across the country, negotiating with clients and making sure all building were engineered to specs and codes per that region of the country. Prior to the company closing its doors due to the recession I had a local team of 5 sales reps and over one hundred dealers across the country. Due to the recession I decided to go into Physical Therapy.
After graduation I started working in Home Health. As a Home Health PTA I inadvertently resurrected my sales career. Having to go into local hospitals and Doctors offices to generate patients and sell the doctors on my skill set as well as the companies. As we all know, no two people are the same. When entering a new patients home you have a short amount of time to assess the patient and their demeanor so that they will be receptive to your treatment and allow you to come back into their home.
With the constant changes in the medical industry I would like to broaden my skill set and take on new challenges. I know I can be a valuable asset to CBRE and I look forward to the chance of interviewing for the sales position.
