For two semesters I was an undergraduate student researcher for Dr. Shari Kidwell. Our research examined the relationship between a parent and child based on their meta-emotions.

My responsibilities were as follows:

  • Create an accurate transcript of previously recorded psychological interviews.
  • Enhanced research quality by diligently reviewing and analyzing relevant literature sources.
  • Work with my co-researchers to develop a coding scheme to examine the following factors: Cognitive diffusion, Contact with the present moment, Acceptance of emotions vs Avoidance, Mindfulness, Emotional Clarity, and Parent's support of their teen,.
  • Review the transcripts and code their answers to the interview questions based on the coding scheme we developed.

For just over a semester, I was an undergraduate research assistant for Dr. Elizabeth Neilson. My responsibilities can be broken down into a few areas:
