• Directly correlating with improving FPY is being able to properly disposition non-conforming materials (NCM) using core skills such as root-cause analysis to prevent recurrent NCM.

• As a process engineering technician, we bridge the communication gap between cross-functional teams while ensuring our goals are aligned with all team's goals while also being able to help keep projects on task.

Setup multi-axis (3-5 axis) cnc milling machines such as Akira Seiki’s and Fadals to machine parts down to the thousandths of an inch precise.

Setup includes:

• Manually machining fixtures such as mild steel/aluminum soft jaws or hardened/tool steel hard jaws to hold the raw material(s) to then be machined
• Setting up X/Y/Z/A/B fixture offsets using edge finders and 3-2-1 blocks
• Gathering the necessary tool bits such as spot drills, EM’s, cut/express taps, chamfers, etc; then loading the tools into tool holders to setup tool registry for the related machine using hundred-thousand pins.

My job as a cnc machinist extends past cnc machine setup and machining parts, other skills include:

• deburring / applying certain finishes to unfinished machined parts such as anodizing / brushed metal finishes, etc
• Precision measuring using metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, surface plates etc to ensure parts are machined to an exact provided threshold
• Handling, sorting, organizing an extremely large and diverse amount of tools from your basic carbide drill bit to polycrystalline diamond and cubic boron nitride cutting tools

Building, assembling, repairing bikes ranging from full suspension mountain/trailing bikes to velodrome track oriented bikes

• Assembling bikes to clientele needs from the ground up, sometimes including custom fabrication and modification from raw material.
• Diagnosing/troubleshooting bike related issues and malfunctions and repairing/replacing to meet or exceed prior running standard
• Working with clientele to custom tailor their bike to their preference to let them excel in their category of racing
