Wind Ensemble has consistently scored Excellent and Superior scores at UIL Concert and Sight Reading competition, as well as Superior ratings at “Music in the Parks” competition. Symphonic Band has con Beginning band students have also received Superior scores at the Pride of Texas Music Festival. Bedichek is active in all pep rallies, homecoming football games, elective showcases, Odom Red Ribbon Parade, Austin ISD All City Band, Austin ISD All City Jazz Band, and multiple performances throughout the year. Transitioned 6th grade band students from the elementary level to the middle school level. Prepared 9th-12th grade students for the extensive requirements needed to perform, master, and meet expectations for outstanding performance. Students performed in the 2007 UIL Marching Competition (2nd division), the Tournament of Bands (1st place in division), ATSSB Region Band Competition, ATSSB All-State Band (2 students), outstanding marks at the 2008 Solo and Ensemble Competition, and participated in the UIL Concert Band Competition. Students gave various public and school concerts throughout the year, as well as participation in religious events and concerts.
