Wind Ensemble has consistently scored Excellent and Superior scores at UIL Concert and Sight Reading competition, as well as Superior ratings at “Music in the Parks” competition. Students are active participants in the Hutto ISD Honor Choir, musical theater, afterschool guitar club, and have placed top spots in Music Memory UIL. Follow curriculum set out by TEKS and Hutto ISD. Represented my team as the fine arts GLC, mentor to first year teachers, NJES campus military liaison, as well as assisted with NJES being designated as a purple star campus.

Students were adequately prepared for East Side All Star Competition, All-City Band, UIL Concert Band Competition, school concerts, and public performances. Prepared 6th Grade beginning band students with the expectations of being a musician in a middle school environment. Focused on instrumental technique, reading, writing, and playing musical notation, rhythm, dynamics, scales, and beginning band repertoire. Transitioned 6th grade band students from the elementary level to the middle school level. Guaranteed students were adequately prepared for school concerts, public performances and their future involvement with Pearce Middle School and future musical competitions.

Students were adequately prepared for ATSSB Region Band Competition (at 45 participants, had the largest representation), UIL Concert Band Competition (2nd division on Stage, 1st division in Sight Reading), school concerts, and public concerts. Prepared 9th-12th grade students for the extensive requirements needed to perform, master, and meet expectations for outstanding performance. Students performed in the 2007 UIL Marching Competition (2nd division), the Tournament of Bands (1st place in division), ATSSB Region Band Competition, ATSSB All-State Band (2 students), outstanding marks at the 2008 Solo and Ensemble Competition, and participated in the UIL Concert Band Competition. Students gave various public and school concerts throughout the year, as well as participation in religious events and concerts.
