Projects

H3G2 Stationary Clip Applicator                    Spring 2023 CSU, Chico

  • Successfully designed, constructed, and tested a machine to automate the orientation and fastening of clips into a vinyl window frame for Sierra Pacific Windows, one of the largest lumber companies in California.
  • In collaboration with peer engineers, total project costs were estimated along with project planning, design calculations, and meeting several ANSI, ISO, and OSHA standards.
  • Utilized the Mill, Lathe, CNC and 3D printer to fabricate parts that contributed to the overall success of the project.

Reverse Engineered Automobile Transmission Jack Adapter Spring 2021 CSU, Chico

  • Constructed 3D modeled parts that made up an automobile transmission jack adapter, including an assembly with completed parts and toolbox features to obtain nuts, washers, and various types of fasteners.
  • Generated auxiliary and section drawings views for each part including GD&T and BOM for manufacturability.

Wind Turbine Design Fall 2021, CSU, Chico,

  • Team role included turning shafts on a lathe, and the design of blades and gear housing for a wind turbine that produced 6 Volts of power at 20 miles per hour.
  • Rendered parts and the full assembly with a background from the SOLIDWORKS Visualize professional feature.
  • Used Animation Wizard and Motion Studies so parts function when in contact with one another, along with applying Extrude and Revolve Boss/Base features to design several parts.
  • Tested turbine prototype inside a wind tunnel which produced the most power with the least amount of wind speeds in comparison to the rest of the class, resulting in an A grade.
