I grew up in the small town of Davison Michigan. In 8th grade, I saw a hurricane on CNN and decided I didn’t want to sit back and watch, I wanted to help. Since that moment it has been my main motivator to get into the medical field to give to the community and help people during crisis. Medicine and emergency response has always been my career goal, but it has also always been who I see myself as.
After high school, I committed to The United States Navy as a master at arms (military police). I left for bootcamp in July of 2021. While I was there I was tested on my ability to respond to stressful situations and extreme pressure. I excelled in bootcamp but there was one thing I was not able to accomplish, which was running a mile and a half by 14 minutes. I continued to practice and strive for excellence but since I could not meet the time requirement, I was sent home. I picked myself back up and decided to move forward onto firefighting, emt and now paramedic.
