Angel Flores

I helped elementary school students in a Latin American community with their English language learning. I practiced reading skills with the students, as well as math skills. I maintained an organized environment, free of judgement so that the students felt most comfortable.

I worked as a host and cashier for a local Chinese restaurant. I learned to manage high-pressure and unexpected situations, like when large parties would come in, and maintain friendly customer relations. I was able to work under pressure during rush hours, answering phone calls, taking orders, and seating customers. I learned to work in customer service. Additionally, I absorbed culture that was new to me and embraced it.
