Our mechanical engineering team was responsible for the design of gas turbine engine products.
Responsibilities included the gas turbine design, analysis, lifing and testing support of gas turbine components for new designs, redesigns and to resolve field related issues. My responsibility was mainly working with the re-design of the compressor using Seimens NX 18 along with Teamcenter.
Developed 3D models and CAD drawings to support designs.
Sketched outline designs and used CAD programs to create detailed design and specifications.
Also, working with configuration management to approve and release parts and assemblies through Teamcenter .
Read and interpreted blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.

The products include APU's and APU Installation Kits (AIK's), Turbofan and Nacelle systems, Turboshaft, and Turboprop
Most of my experience has been supporting the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) group
Responsibilities included working with the internal and external installations of the APU creating a 3D representation of a suspension system with isolators connecting wire harnesses for flight test data using Unigraphics/Seimens NX 8 along with Teamcenter
I had the opportunity to gain knowledge using the electrical routing tool within NX8 to accomplish wire harnessing for a flight test project to reach completion by its due date
Utilized NX 8 to create 3D models and drawings along with Honeywell guidelines and standards along with communication through engineering within the group and engineering and assembly in the shop
Some of the time is spent in the shop to troubleshoot and create engineering changes to correct issues in the field with our customers and/or internal assembly
Learning quickly to become proficient using electrical routing tool skills quickly and I also learned internal programs within the company such as; DEXcenter and AeroPDM.
Our mechanical engineering team worked on high performance helicopter parts as they built the MD 500 series helicopters, MD 600N helicopters and MD Explorer helicopter some using notar (no tail rotor) types of rotorcraft
