Additional Information

  • Over the past seven years, I have actively participated in the district’s summer curriculum work sessions, collaborating with educators under the leadership of Dr. Zehra Khan. My work has included revising and refining math curriculum plans, unpacking Missouri Learning Standards, and developing 4-point proficiency scales to clearly define levels of student understanding and mastery. I have also contributed to the creation of MAP practice items questions and helped develop questions for Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) and Common Summative Assessments (CSAs) designed to measure student mastery and support data-driven instruction. In addition, I played a key role in two district textbook adoption processes, offering instructional insights to ensure alignment with curricular goals. Throughout the academic year, in alignment with the district’s professional development calendar, I have designed and led math-focused professional development sessions for teachers. These sessions emphasize fidelity of curriculum implementation, effective instructional strategies to enhance student achievement, strategies to boost engagement and student voice, and the integration of higher-order thinking skills in the math classroom..
  • The Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILS) Instructional Coach plays a key role in implementing the VILS program at the school level, offering teachers pedagogical support to utilize technology effectively in the classroom across the 2021-22 and 2022-23 Academic School Year. Additionally, they are responsible for leading communication and implementation efforts at the school level for the redesign process, organizing mandatory meetings, and overseeing the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at AESM in 2023-24.
