  • Commissioners are charged with ensuring fairness in the administration of policies, attracting adequate resources, balancing the Housing Authority demands of conflicting community groups, and winning public support. Moreover, as they conduct the business of overseeing local public housing operations.


Elected as Chairperson of the Waelder Housing Authority Board of Commissioners on March 1, 2016 and currently holds this position


  • Chairperson works with the Executive Director to plan the meeting agenda as well as how the meeting will be conducted. The Chairperson keeps an overall view of the board calendar and makes sure that duties mandated by board policy or by law are completed on time. The Chairperson must be viewed as a facilitator, rather than a controller, of Board Meetings. He or she begins the meetings on time, directs the Board through the agenda and attempts to adjourn the meeting on schedule. As facilitator, the chairperson ensures that all Board members have the opportunity for a fair participation, attempts to make sure all sides are heard, and moves the Board to action on the issures.



Additional Information

I was the Spanish Speaking Community Supervision Officer for the 2nd 25th Judicial District CSCD for the entire time of my employment. I traveled to Colorado County CSCD and Lavaca County CSCD, while having my home base as Gonzales County CSCD for the first few years of my employment. I then stayed in Gonzales County CSCD and supervised both English and Spanish speaking Offenders. In 2021, I did travel to Colorado County CSCD for a number of months to assist them with their Spanish Speaking Caseload prior to my resignation.
