  • Siting studies used Spatial Analyst, which identifies potential sites for power plants with CO2 capture and storage, wind turbines, photovoltaic and concentrated solar power generation development; transmission lines; gas/coal fired power plants, landfills and Alternative Municipal Waste studies
  • Data modeling employed the principles of decision analysis to apply criteria to reveal the best sites from the GIS database with minimum impact on and maximum profit potential for numerous power clients
  • Customized each GIS study to formalize and integrate the judgments and preferences of experts and clients, then generated maps, tables and graphs to enhance understanding of the procedure and outcome
  • Potential sites ranked using multi-attribute utility analysis
  • Lead GIS for the SCE Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Line Project
  • Conducted DOD asset audits (as-built project documentation)
  • Hazard Mitigation Plans and completing the GIS portion of Environmental Assessments and Impact Reports for local governments and power clients
  • Displayed and analyzed GIS data from a wide range of subjects such as Land Use, Zoning, General Plans, Wetland Jurisdictions, Ecology, Threatened and Endangered Species, Cultural, Water, Traffic, Geologic, Noise, Hazard data, FEMA flood maps/data, Phase I, II and III ESAs, and others
  • Mapped dig site surveys for the Freeport McMoRan (FMOG) pipeline, completed a Phase V ESA for the FMOG Arroyo Grande Oil Field
  • Able to utilize GIS applications to perform advanced spatial analysis, data conversion or manipulation, i.e
  • Raster/surface manipulation, mosaic, modify and re-purpose imagery for other software
  • Able to use LiDAR and Esri geoprocessing tools to perform view-shed analyses used to determine predictive visibility over an area
  • Worked on several GIS databases within the LA Metro region, Santa Barbara and Kern County to manage field monitoring data, QA/QC, and plot the analytical data and resulting contours for refinery projects and EPA Superfund sites
  • Worked closely with Geoscience and GIS colleagues to make sure there were comprehensive workflows and metadata from multiple sources

  • GIS support and products, such maps and data, were provided for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection
  • Tasks included interpreting and processing ecological and Threatened and Endangered Species information and from various sources to conform within a statewide database
  • Digitized and edited FNAI’s element occurrence record boundaries as ArcInfo coverages and ArcView shapefiles; responded to data requests by providing ArcView-generated maps, shapefiles and report production
  • Lead GIS Technician/Assistant Biologist in a 5-year ecological survey of Eglin Air Force Base (1992-97); Created the Eglin Air Force Base Tiers of Ecological Conditions (aerial photograph-based, vector) and ground truth points (GPS survey)
