• Responsibilities fulfilled during the position as a staff nurse was to coordinate and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide individualized care that supports, promotes, and restores the patient's health by using the nursing process. This care was delivered in both the medical surgical and telemetry areas which provided opportunity to acquire increased knowledge base in order to care for individuals with a different set of acute/chronic illnesses. These included: post MI, GI disorders, HF, DM, HTN, CKD, Angina, Cardiac catheterizations, pneumonia, and TIAs.
• This position provided me with the opportunity to assist with TEEs, echocardiogram, and cardioversion. It also provided the ability to take a leadership role in the position of charge nurse which provided the opportunity to take on a more supervisory role, preparing assignments, and organizing activities on the unit.
