Additional Information

As an ASL interpreter and mother to two Deaf children, I am passionate about the interpreting profession. It is important to have interpreters who are not only qualified in their skill, but also in cultural competency. In the different roles of mother to Deaf children needing appropriate interpreters and in situations where I am the interpreter, I have seen how much good happens when skill and cultural competency are present in a situation.
