Unit is a long-term post-acute facility. Medical-surgical unit with long-term critical patients who need prolonged hospitalization. The unit has a capacity of 19 beds. The nurse to patient ratio is 1: 5-6.

• Unit is a 16 bed capacity and is an acute med sug unit.Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6.

• Consistently maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Skillfully perform venipuncture, IV insertion, and catheterizations, ensuring proper technique and adherence to infection control standards.
• Provide health education to patients and families regarding discharge instructions and plans of care.
• Advocate for and strive to protect health, safety, and rights of patient.
• Administer medications and treatment to patients and monitor responses while working with healthcare teams to adjust care plans.

• The Medical Surgical unit has a 120-bed capacity which caters for both male and female medical and surgical/Orthopedic patients
• Cases cared for include Diabetes, chronic lung diseases, hypertension, pneumonia HIV related complications, burns, surgical wounds and head injury
• The nurse patient ratio is 1:8-10.

• The Covid-19 Isolation unit was a 20-bed capacity Covid-ICU step down which catered for patients with covid-19 who required supplemental oxygen for recovery while off ventilators and have other chronic condition including diabetes, hypertension, chronic lung diseases, Pneumonia
• The nurse-to-patient ratio was 1:5.

• The Post-Partum Unit has a 60-bed capacity which caters for both antepartum and postpartum patients
• Cases cared for include Pre-eclampsia, Antepartum hemorrhage, Oligohydramnios, Polyhydramnios, Comorbidities in Post-partum, Cardiac disease in Pregnancy, Postpartum hemorrhage, postpartum infection
• The nurse to patient ratio is 1:7-10.

• Athiriver health center is a government owned public clinic
• The facility has a 6 bed capacity providing triage, treatment of illnesses, child welfare clinics, immunization clinics, antenatal and maternity services
• The medical clinic has a 6 bed capacity
• Cases seen include outpatients, well baby, prenatal, maternity and postnatal care, HIV and TB patients
• The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-10.

• The Labor and Delivery Unit has a 10 bed capacity which caters for mothers in labor, delivery and immediate post-partum observation
• Cases cared for include; normal labor monitoring (Without serial fetal monitoring), antepartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal resuscitation
