Under the guidance and supervision of a Troop Leader and trained Sign Language Community Member, I organized and conducted a day long training on Sign Language. The Girl Scouts who attended the activity were first educated on the importance and use of Sign Language, before moving on to basic signs and how to properly communicate them. By the end of the training, the Girl Scouts were able to spell the Alphabet, spell their names, and say ten basic phrases such as "yes, no, thank you, please, more, water, mom, dad, grandma and grandpa".
