During my time as a paraprofessional in the special education department, I was able to help students one on one or in groups with their daily studies and needs. Daily learning integrated with helping students in their everyday life was a rewarding and positive position.

My duties included bringing students to their classes and working on assignments with them, ensuring the safety and assisting in hygiene. Each day was different and I learned to be very versatile while valuing the importance of education.

The Plainsman local newspaper trained me to be a jack of all trades in print media. My duties ranged from conducting interviews, writing articles, photographing many community events, as well as graphic design, website design, page layout, plus much more.

I was able to learn many skills and make many connections within the community.

Assisting students in their educational environment, completing tasks in an efficient and positive manner and being available for a variety of different settings within the school.

I was able to work with students in groups as well as one on one for catching up on assignments, taking a group to learn a specific topic such as math or reading, plus playground and bus duties to ensure safety.
