Manage a K-12 School Counseling Program followed by the ASCA (American School Counseling Association) Model and provide individual services in areas of Academic, Social and Career to students and parents.
Manage student transcripts and records.
Educate students on what classes to take during high school and ensure they are meeting the graduation requirements.
Work with Administrative Assistant to prepare schedules for students.
Administer PSAT, Pre-ACT, State ACT Testing and Saturday ACT testing.
Oversee the Honor Roll and Roll of Excellence.
Work with scholarship donors in the community and with Kearney Foundation distributing information and setting up scholarships.
Manage local scholarship forms and other scholarships and communicate and work with parents and students.
Provide small group counseling to middle school students.
Teach classroom lessons in a variety of grade levels on SEL (Social Emotional Learning) skills.
Teach classroom lessons in grades 5-12 related to college and career readiness.
Plan field trips to help students with college selection and career choices.
Organize and coordinate Friends Mentoring Program.
Organize and manage STAR (Students Teaching About Responsibility) and YAB (Youth Advisory Board) organizations focussing on drug free activities and promoting mental health awareness.
Serve as team member and leader on the District MTSS Team and Problem Solving team.
Manage online courses through the Edmentum program, including modifying curriculum and assigning courses to students for summer school and credit recovery.
Manage college and career information and disseminate to parents and students weekly.
Serve as a member of IEP/MDT Team Meetings.
Enroll new students and work with teachers to make sure they transition smoothly.
Manage dual credit programs and advise students who are taking college classes.
Serve as the liaison between colleges such as UNK and CCC to provide program information to our students.
Arrange college visits for groups of students in middle school and high school.
Manage SEL curriculum for grades 6-12.
Serve as a team member and leader on the School Mental Health Team.
Organize and promote a local high school career fair at our school for our students.
Assist in supervising in the lunchroom building relationships with students.
Recently established the District PFA (Psychological First Aid) Team and serves as a member of the Safety Team.
