- Milking cows, preparing them with iodine first and you strip them out to make sure they don't have mastitis and or E-Coli; which if they have mastitis it would come out as a white chunk of milk and for E-Coli the milk would turn clear
- After dipping them with the iodine you would practice wiping off the teats and make sure you get all the manure off of them and put on the milker, which is basically what helps us milk instead of milking by hand
- After they are done milking, we either put powder or liquid dip, which are two different types of liquids to protect and prevent infection
- Mastitis cows are "separate cows" they are treated with all different kinds of medications, depending on what kind of infection/mastitis they have
- After milking all the cattle you would then prepare to clean up by washing the dishes(buckets, bucket milkers, baby bottles, blue feeders)
- Washing the milkers with hot water and putting the nuggets back on to be able to clean the inside of the milkers and pipeline
- Scraping the floors and the back where the cows wait to be milked
- Washing the floors with a hose filled cold water, after spraying the floors and scraping the back and lanes in the parlor we put down sawdust so the cows do not slip inside the parlor and make them be safe
- Putting salt outside the parlor to prevent build-up of manure and keeping us and the cows safe while walking.
