Direct community engagement and philanthropic initiatives in partnership with Aramark Corporation, for Chicago Public Schools (CPS). Develop and implement school nutrition and facility management educational programs; and oversee regional strategic philanthropy. Work in collaboration with multiple nonprofit organizations and community stakeholders to promote nutrition and wellness education, food equity and clean environment programs.
Philanthropy & Partnerships
- Lead grant and scholarship strategy development, implementation and compliance.
- Fiscal management of $1 million corporate giving budget. Successfully coordinated allocation of $500K in culinary and facilities scholarships and grants.
- Provide strategic oversight for identification of potential community partners and management of relationships.
- Lead regional Aramark philanthropic service team and employee volunteer network. Increased employee participation by 20%.
- Co-led redevelopment of regional grantmaking strategies, enhanced KPI tools and developed program templates that allow for more customized options for employees to engage with local non-profits.
- Coordinate 6-10 annual service projects and grant programs to extend Aramark’s brand reputation and fulfill company’s commitment to community service.
- Implemented data-driven approaches to evaluate program/grant success, refining strategies as needed for optimal results.
- Serve as liaison with employee resource groups in the region for community engagement initiatives.
- Member of Aramark’s Employee Resource Group - LEAD (Leaders & Employees of African Descent).
- Serve as liaison with CPS Board of Education to keep them informed on Aramark initiatives.
- Coordination and management of multiple partnerships with school communities, educational groups, nonprofits and key stakeholders across the region.
- Corporate liaison fostering partnerships and communications with city and state government officials. Coordinate scholarships with Aldermanic Black and Hispanic Caucus Foundations.
- Work directly with CPS Leadership and auxiliary groups to plan and execute fundraisers, supply drives and educational workshops for students and families.
Youth/Workforce Development
- Created Culinary Pipeline Workforce Internship program for culinary students, providing post-secondary college scholarships, leadership development and culinary career training opportunities.
- Coordinate college and career exploration tours at Aramark client accounts (hospitals, colleges, banks, and sports venues) to expose students to universities and potential career fields.
- Developed Facilities Services Pipeline Workforce program in partnership with faith community organizations, resulting in 100 hires within two years.
