With 10+ years of experience as an instrumentalist and composer and 10+ years of experience recording and mixing audio recordings both at home and in professional recording studios and having studied many aspects of music performance, composition and recording processes.
Organized and dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet class goals.
I possess a proficiency and fluency in music theory, both jazz and classical theory and more, as well as a virtuosity on piano and keyboards, specifically. I also have studied the drums and classical guitar as well as theory and composition. My musical mentor was Garry Dial, the head of piano faculty at Manhattan School of Music, who played with Red Rodney, as well as Frank Sinatra and was a close friend and associate of one of Bill Evans. I have studied piano technique, performance and theory with him intensively for twelve years, since I was thirteen years old.
I am compelled to teach kids how to make their own tunes,as well as musical theory, improvisation, and syncopation that will help them grasp a broad variety across musical styles, without borders, to help them understand music more universal and to help them become aware of a broader pallette. My ideal position would be to teach to those in hopes of reclaiming -or re-balancing privilege.
People are open to things they aren't given access to- simple.
