ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pre- operative assessment of patients before surgery from blood works, previous medical condition like hypertension, cardiac and Diabetes to body assessment for open wounds and infections e.g MRSA,UTI and respiratory system infection
• Admissions of patients as per medical policy of the hospital
• Proper theatre gowning, signing of consent forms and giving identification label
• Giving of pre-medications before surgery
• Details explanation of procedures and address any patients concerns to minimize anxiety.
• Handover of patients professionally to theatre nurses
• Receiving of patients from recovery for post operative care
• Post operative care for the incision site for pain and haemorrhage.
• Giving health education regarding there surgical procedure and other medical health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, dementia, cardiac, anxiety etc
• Taking vital observations and giving medications
• Updating and escalating any medical concerns with resident doctor, consultant and anaesthetist about patient.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identified patient problems, symptoms and behavioral changes.
• Provide individualized health education to the patient and the family
• Document patient assessment findings and progress towards problem resolution.
• Settling patient into the room and prepping the patient for surgery Offering health education to
  patients on any pre-operative instructions
• Ensuring that all pre-operatives tests and blood work are completed
• Set priorities of patient's needs and provides care accordingly.
• Explained procedures and addressed any patient concerns.
• Interviewing and assessing the patient on the day of the surgery
• Provide wound care to patients in the ward
• Taking and recording patients' vital signs
• Pain management of patients especially after surgery
• Administration of different types of prescribed medication to patients

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receiving patients from outpatient and casualty departments, settling them down comfortably, ensuring that they are reviewed and making plans of care for them.
• Performing various nursing procedures ranging from bed making, wound dressing, catheter and cannula care, and other procedures required of me or as requested by the physician.
• Administering medications, being keen on the High Alert Medications, and ensuring that all patients get their medications in time.
• Properly documenting every activity done according to the plan of care.
• Closely monitoring patients, taking their vitals and acting promptly in case of a change in the state of the patient.
• Participating in the resuscitation of patients.
• Collaborating with the health care team in every aspect of patient care.
• Ensuring a proper hand over to the subsequent nurse to avoid unwelcome incidences.
• Performing any other duty within my scope as requested by my seniors.
