Communicable Disease Investigators perform non-criminal investigations, counseling, and educational work in public health laws, rules, and regulations that govern HIV disease, sexually transmitted diseases, tuberculosis, and other communicable or infectious diseases.

Under general supervision, incumbents perform non-criminal investigations in field, office and health care facility settings to confirm diagnosis and, if possible, determine/locate the source of communicable disease for prevention and control. Incumbents perform limited counseling and education of persons with communicable diseases, in the effort to prevent and control the spread of infections.

• Conducted over 1500 Case Investigations for COVID in the past 2 years
• Created spreadsheets for Contact Tracers
• Trained new Case investigators on HIPPA and County Rules and Regulations
• Join Big 5 University COVID team - Trained Staff and students on COVID protocol

• Managed caseload of 150 youth a year in Cal jobs system to provide comprehensive, community-based care.
• Collaborated with external agencies to meet educational and transitional needs of students.
• Developed and implemented transition services plan to facilitate movement from school to activities.
• Informally mentored new case managers and service coordinators, answering questions, offering opportunities to shadow and observe and explaining basic information about company procedures.
