Achieved CLAWS ( Character Scholarship) Award in 9th grade. Awarded by 9th grade History teacher Jeffrey Rutledge (who gave him the CLAWS (Character Scholarship) Award – “Besides excelling on all his tests, Anish regularly contributed to class discussions with titbits of information that always furthered his classmates understanding of the material. There wasn’t a class that went by in which he didn’t positively contribute his wisdom. It was amazing to listen to how much knowledge he had”

Music Classes- Since the past 7 years or so have been learning Indian Carnatic Vocal music . Have participated in several concerts with the help of his teacher. Anish is at Carnatic Vocal Level 1 and plans to pursue his interest to higher levels.
Ethnic, Social and Spiritual – Has been participating in ethnic, social, and spiritual activities at Chinmaya Mission. Chinmaya Mission focuses on teaching and helping people realize their self (Science of self as explained in Vedas) by way of teachings from gurus. He participated in activities that included drama and plays, chanting Bhagavad-Gita etc. This has made me a better person that is modest, respectful, and gregarious.
Got selected and has participated in Virginia Earth Systems Science Scholars (VESS) program offered by Virginia Space Grant Consortium, a state level outreach of NASA. He thoroughly enjoyed worked on this for weeks and submitted all the required materials. Unfortunately, was not shortlisted for the scholarship but learnt and implemented a lot during this process.
