  • The project was on the root causes for falls
  • After the analysis on root causes, I suggested a Pilot of toileting schedule program on 7C for all shifts where toileting schedules are implemented based on a combination of factors to include Morse fall score and other fall risk factors (cognitive impairment, etc.) per nursing discretion
  • The pilot is scheduled to start on 03/01/2023
  • As a result of this pilot, the unit also developed more education on bed alarms, updating the white board in the patient's room, and reflecting the Nursing Care Plan according to the patient's risk factors
  • I’m also part of the Patient Safety Committee, and the falls committee
  • In being part of the committee, I constantly try to improve patient safety and help in preventing patient falls.

  • While being the Lead Protection Coordinator, I maintain an inventory of all leads in the Anesthesiology Division, coordinate lead protection testing by Radiology, place and update missing tags, and identify and address issues with tag placement.
