Within the Policy Development and Special Initiatives Unit, I worked on high-priority initiatives and conducted data or financial analysis to formulate recommendations to inform agency- and city-wide decision-making including a basement apartment legalization pilot, the City's fair housing initiative, a building energy performance mandate, rent regulation reform, and more.
• Worked with stakeholders across the agency to identify, clarify, analyze, and advance solutions to complex policy and operational issues or to implement Mayoral initiatives
• Developed evidence-based policies that further the City's housing goals by collecting, assessing, and synthesizing evidence on policy issues and proposals
• Built scenario-testing financial models to project potential outcomes
• Projects included: Where We Live NYC (NYC's fair housing plan); rent regulation reform; J-51 tax incentive reform; Climate Mobilization Act; Opportunity Zones; and homeownership and economic mobility research
