Work History

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Cell and Developmental Biology, Neuroscience, CAI RESEARCH LABORATORY
Ann Arbor, MI
10.2024 - 12.2025
  • Conducted and examined four behavioral experiments, such as Von Frey, Capsaicin pain, CQ itch, and Corn oil grooming, to assess sensory processing in mice with targeted cortical and brainstem lesions in the S1/S2 and RN regions
  • Analyzed and compared five recorded videos over a 30 minute time interval of control and lesioned mice in each behavioral experiment to differentiate behaviors using quantitative measures (event count, time spent, and response thresholds)
  • Created figures and graphs containing averages of 200+ event counts and time stamps from experimental results to explore cortical gating mechanisms in somatosensory pathway; contributed to project hypotheses and refinement
  • Collaborated with PI, PhD candidate mentor, and two undergraduate students in data meetings; presented findings and received feedback for experimental direction
  • Prepared figures from acquired data over four months and reviewed project progress to create introduction, methods, data analysis, and future plans for conference poster presentations
  • Presented poster at annual Program in Biology, Program in Undergraduate Neuroscience Poster Conference

Caregiver

HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE
10.2023 - Current
  • Provided one-on-one aide for nine seniors with neurodegenerative disease and/or cognitive decline assisting with daily living at client’s home or care facility
  • Ensured bathing and hygiene for nine client’s with Multiple Sclerosis, muscle weakness, arthritis, and/or chronic neuropathic pain to improve quality of life
  • Monitored and recorded changes in client’s health and well-being every shift by providing medication, blood pressure monitoring, fluid intake, food intake, and overall mental health
  • Ensured transportation for two clients with reduced neuromuscular control
  • Maintaining a companionship with each of 5+ clients and family to aid in a smooth transition for each client regarding comfortability with aging and requiring more assistance in daily tasks

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Purdue University
West Lafayette, IN
08.2022 - 12.2022
  • Contributed to developing early detection machinery for in-hospital cardiac arrest, focusing on integrating and refining data-driven algorithms.
  • Conducted in-depth analysis of the MIMIC IV dataset, identifying key patterns and improving the software’s accuracy and reliability.
  • Reviewed and synthesized existing research literature to enhance dataset quality and inform machine learning models, resulting in more effective predictive capabilities.
