I kept all EMR forms, coding, custom lists, flowsheet mapping, service provider referral list, referral orders and step by step instructions up to date. I was available for any EMR support our users may have needed. If there was a specific EMR need I researched the best options, delivered those options and once a decision was made, I helped to build and implement the new process.
Medical Scribe
NORTH SOUND FAMILY MEDICINE (Family Care Network)
12.2010 - 09.2012
Responsibilities: As a medical scribe I was responsible for documenting all necessary information in each office visit including history and physical information, review of systems, family and social history, past medical and surgical history, physical exam and setting up the assessment and plan for the doctor adding new diagnoses if needed. I proofread all documents sent to me by the physician and inserted recalls as well as orders and billing codes as appropriate. I filled out requisitions for lab and x-ray as the doctor instructed then presented it to him for signature. Any medication changes or new medications I added at the doctor's request. I made sure the patient's problem list was organized and up to date. I printed out any informational handouts, labs results, imaging results or consults as needed. I scheduled any necessary specialist appointments for patients including imaging. I would also close the appointment when needed, making sure the patient had all the necessary paperwork, instructions and understands where to go for any further testing needed. I completed various research projects for the physician and helped the nurse that worked with us in any way I could. There were many other smaller tasks I did to help our day run as smoothly as possible.
Patient Services
NORTH SOUND FAMILY MEDICINE (Family Care Network)

I handled insurance referral requests that were needed by gathering appropriate information and routing to referral specialist. I dealt with all emergency calls while staying calm and focused. I was responsible for putting together all the new patient packets and notifying the doctors of any internal transfer requests. The Administrative Assistant had to cut back her hours, so I was asked to take on some of her duties she was no longer able to do. I was then responsible for scheduling all deposition meetings for the doctors and preliminary visits. I also took over scheduling notary appointments with doctor, notary, and patient. This required me to keep up with all the different preferences of each doctor and how they like their days to be templated. I was also in charge of keeping patient counts for month end reports.
MOSES LAKE SCHOOL DISTRICT
12.2004 - 12.2006
I began working at the Moses Lake School District as a substitute elementary school secretary working with the public, answering multi-line phones, checking students in and out of school, overseeing the health room, keeping track of student absences and tardiness and assisting the school principal. Most of my time with the School District was as a para-educator working one on one with elementary school special needs children for the most part. During this time, I also helped to monitor the playground and the lunchroom, corrected papers, instructed small groups of students in the classroom and performed a variety of office tasks for teachers. As a result of budget cuts in the District I accepted a position at Moses Lake High School in October 2006 to work as the permanent health room aide. I checked students into the health room, assisted with their injuries, charted all the associated information on an individual basis, completed appropriate documents related to injuries, accidents, illnesses, etc., and monitored diabetic students when their blood sugar was low.
All the above positions with the Moses Lake School District required quick thinking, an eye for detail, resourcefulness, excellent people skills, patience, and a willingness to remain flexible and teachable.

All of the visiting doctors for these departments had patients scheduled on varying days of the week, which required skills in flexibility, accuracy, multi-tasking, sensitivity, maintaining a pleasant attitude at all times, and a willingness to go the extra mile for both the patient and the medical staff.
