Responsible for providing full-scope midwifery care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic patients across the lifespan. Independently manage low-risk patients and consult/collaborate with a physician when appropriate for high-risk patients. Inpatient hospital management experience includes managing intrapartum and postpartum patients, triaging obstetrical patients, and first assisting with cesarean sections. Participated in over 80 successful vaginal births and first assisted approximately 40 cesarean sections. Outpatient-office management experience includes obtaining detailed medical history and performing examinations, in order to provide diagnoses and establish a plan for care for antepartum, postpartum, and routine gynecologic patients. Examine, on average, 22-30 patients during an office day.

Responsible for providing professional nursing care, across the spectrum of Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery according to specified physician orders, and in conformance with established nursing techniques, procedures, standards and Medical Center administrative nursing policies. Orient new hires by serving as a preceptor and mentor to assist in te development of nursing skills, as well as, increase knowledge of unit policy and procedure. Serve as a role model and support system for staff while running charge. Maintain a safe and conducive environment to facilitate quality of care for patients. Assist deliveries via cesarean section in the operating room as the scrub nurse and ensure sterility of procedures.

Job responsibilities include; assessing patient conditions, administering medications, managing wound care, monitoring vital signs, and educating patients according to their clinical presentation.

Provide care to post-operative patients under the supervision of nurses and doctors. Responsibilities include; monitor vital signs, collecting specimens, performing catheterization, and assisting patients with ambulation, personal hygiene, eating, as well as other daily activities.
