Oversaw a team of 1 behavior specialist, 39 teachers, and 11 special education assistants for the Pre-K Itinerant Teacher (PKIT) program with over 1,300 unenrolled and enrolled preschool and Transitional-Kindergarten (TK) aged students, evaluating teacher performance, and ensuring compliance with District and Special Education policy & procedures and understanding of Preschool Learning Foundations. Supervised the PKIT teachers in supporting these over 1,300 preschooler students with providing case management, behavior support, direct service, and home/hospital instruction. Planned and supervised Extended School Year (ESY) program for the PKIT students. Led monthly staff meetings with a focus on special education policies and procedures, developmentally appropriate practice, using data to drive instruction, and District mandated trainings. Worked closely with the Division of Special Education to ensure compliance. Collaboratively implemented final settlement agreements and writing Prior Written Notice (PWN) letters as appropriate. Worked closely with related services and nursing to ensure all unenrolled preschoolers are able to access services. Provided collaborative support to administrators across the 600 elementary schools in LAUSD. Supervised IEP compliance with use of data pulls from Welligent for service tracking and IEP due dates. Attended IEP meetings as the role of administrator.

Worked collaboratively with the administrators and teachers at my assigned special education preschool programs, often over 100 programs per school year at over 50 school sites. IEP case managed for the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Department. Collaboratively planned and implemented Professional Learning Community meetings for ECSE teachers. Worked collaboratively to assist teachers with curriculum & instruction, IEP writing, Positive Behavior Practices, use of Desired Results Developmental Profile 2015, data collection, room arrangement, scheduling, and other topics related to preschool special education programs. Collaboratively redesigned and was a lead presenter of the "New Teacher Creative Curriculum Training" for the Zoom platform. Created Distance Learning Packets (Sept. 2020-November 2022), worked collaboratively with coaches to create and maintain a Google classroom for our assigned teachers and supported the creation of a Google site for ECSE teachers and parents. Worked collaboratively with the administrators and teachers at my assigned programs, over 110 preschool programs at 56 different school sites in the “Valley North East” area. Collaborated with administrators and teachers with implementation of the Creative Curriculum (including classroom layout), use of the DRDP, data collection, positive behavior practices, and preparation for upcoming IEP meetings. IEP case management and an expert in using Welligent for writing IEP documents. Supported parents with questions, concerns about their students IEP programs/services, scheduled and met parents at school sites for program observations, and held IEP meetings as appropriate. Collaboratively planned to implement monthly Professional Learning Community meetings for ECSE teachers. Collaboratively prepared and presented the Fall “DRDP Training” and Spring “Transition to Kinder” professional development trainings for teachers. Supported the ESY programs with campus support, enrollment, provided assistance with busing and preschool program schedules, provided technical and curricular support to preschool teachers, and assisted with IEP meetings as appropriate.

Operations Program Specialist (December 2019 – July 2019)

Maintained preschool placement records for all preschool special education programs in the “Valley North East and North West” areas (over 200 day programs and over a dozen after-school language programs). Provided requested preschool programs to assistant principals and program specialist when requested via our Google form. Worked with families new to Los Angeles Unified with an out of district IEP and then handed off the case for the a 30-day IEP to be held by a case manager. Rolled students over in the Welligent system from preschool placement to their Kindergarten placement at the end of the school year. Assisted with “cleaning” the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) data before state submission. Supported ESY by attending the teacher prep day, answering phone calls from parents, providing phone support to administrators and teachers that reached out to the ECSE department. Continued to process preschool program placements as requested.
