Allow me to relay the most significant moment of my career. I was the senior dispatcher during the March 3rd Tornado of 2020. With me that night was a rookie dispatcher of less than a year's experience, and a new trainee. When the storm touched down, I believed the department was in the direct path of the Tornado. I chose to stay at my station to help my team, my civilians and my Officers, continuing my work to the best of my abilities; despite being terrified we would not survive the night. Thankfully the station was not struck; however, the damage to the city was extensive and lives were lost. There is no challenge that will ever exceed that night. I am proud to say I continued my work throughout the crisis, without fail, assisting in the rescue of many citizens and the recovery efforts of the city.
