I am the daughter of a United States veteran and have done my fair share of moving and adapting to new situations. These experiences have shaped me to be a persevering and confident young woman who is steadfast in pursuing her career and educational goals. I have been in the dental industry for a total of 7 years. I returned to school as a non-traditional student at the age of 25 years old in the year 2022 to pursue my dream of becoming a dental hygienist. I have dedicated a large portion of my adult life to the dental field as it is my passion to serve my community with ethical and compassionate oral healthcare. My dream is to one day attend the UMKC dental hygiene program! After receiving my dental hygiene license I intend to have my practice that helps support low-income families to have the opportunity to address oral health concerns and receive access to oral cancer screenings and tools to preserve good oral hygiene. I believe that overall wellness starts in the mouth!
