Summary - Statement Of Belief

Education is the most pressing social justice issue of our time. In a world where self realization and mobility are increasingly dependent on intellectual skills, it is imperative that all children have access to quality education. Learning begins and ends with a trusting relationship. As a teacher, it is essential to build a caring connection with each student in order to develop individual strengths and curiosities, and to address specific needs. It is crucial to find that delicate balance of both nurturing and challenging students to be the best that they can be. The poet Khalil Gibran once said, 'work is love made visible.' I believe that teaching is just that, a tangible act of love that each and every child deserves.
