Currently working as a research assistant in the Patton College of Education at Ohio University. I am working on a project examining the impact of accessible playgrounds on kids with disabilities’ self-esteem, friendships, etc. I am also conducting a literature review on pre-service teaching experiences.
This was a remote position where I was a virtual certified literacy tutor for students K-8. I utilized an online classroom space to work with kids all over the U.S. who were behind in reading. My responsibilities were to follow and teach lesson plans and administer baseline and progress monitoring assessments
I held a graduate assistantship position under a School Psychology Program Faculty member. I researched school psychology assessment validity. My main role was to organize data to put into SPSS.
Within the Children’s Cognitive Research Lab, I lead a program called Project Plus, where I led and managed a group of over 20 undergraduate students. I led these volunteers into an urban school to facilitate math learning in first and second graders using online math learning websites. I managed data collection, storage, etc. I held interviews and trainings for volunteers, kept administrative tasks up to date, and spent about 15 hours a week leading.
I worked for two graduate students in the University of Cincinnati's Sociology PhD program who were researching common terms used in gay dating apps. My primary role in this job was to transcribe information from dating profiles and organize the data in a way that could be easily understood by the two graduate students writing a thesis on it.
