  • As the protocol officer for WBAMC serves as the subject expert on all protocol related issues or concerns. Advises and directs the leadership regarding flag protocols. Maintain procedures and guidelines for checking out flags, for the correct procedure when a flag is at half-mast and the correct protocol accounting and control requirements for command coins. Performs as a vital team member for the entire Command Group. Establishes, fosters, and maintains productive working relationships with 1AD, Ft Bliss Garrison, and external community partners, maximizing the commander's sphere of influence and community relations. Provides professional and courteous public relations and applicable protocol with high-level military and civilian government officials, business and civic leaders, Congressional Staff members, prominent civilians, local hospital officials, and representatives of veterans groups. Works closely with the division protocol office for visits, events such as receptions, formal dinners requiring official representation funds (ORF). Provides a list of the invitees to the commander/director to ensure the event is within the ORF requirements. Once the final invitation list is approved by the director, a meeting is conducted with legal to ensure the director's invitees are with the ORF requirements.   • Serves as the Protocol Officer and Executive Assistant to the Director/ Commander of William Beaumont Army Medical Center which contains 138 Beds, 1.2 million square foot tertiary trauma care teaching hospital including Community-Based Health Clinic, four outlying clinics, a Soldier Recovery Unit and various other health and welfare activities. William Beaumont Army Medical Center is comprised of 2100 civilian employees, over 800 active-duty service members, 900 contractors and several hundred volunteers. Completes assigned duties on schedule and accurately estimates the time required to complete a tasks and sequences tasks appropriately in order to meet command deadlines for responsible projects. Collects maintains, analyzes and provides data, updated slides or required materials for daily meetings to the Director, Command Sergeant Major (CSM), Deputy Commanding Officer (DCO), Chief (CMO), Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and six deputies, and maintains 13-17 calendars, de-conflicting meetings which occur on a daily, weekly and bi/weekly basis. These meetings consist of Daily Safe Brief, Commanders Huddle, 1AD Commanding Generals Meeting, Fatality Review Meetings, Victim Care Review Board, Ironclad Meeting, Medical Readiness Central, West, financial briefs, Executive Board meeting and various other daily and weekly meetings. A daily calendar review is conducted with the director, CSM, Executive Officer to ensure the director is aware of all requirements for the following day. Advises the leadership of any conflicts and provides current read aheads. Prior to the daily calendar review a pre-brief for each regional meeting had been scheduled and conducted with the proponent to ensure all concerns were addressed and final adjustments made. Uses clear, concise language to provide timely and accurate written and oral communication, creates correspondence such as congressional, memorandums, letters or recommendations, and general letters for the commander, and the command group. Processes over 2400 packets through the command suite; verifies the signature block, the office symbol, the content of the memos, and the formatting using AR 25-50. Processes packets and ensures turn around within 24 hours. Coordinates and attends weekly roundtable with the seven Deputy executive assistants to share information and to mentor as needed. Demonstrates commitment to co-workers' success by effectively sharing information across the organization. Coordinators bi/weekly/monthly travel arrangements for the Director, CSM and Deputy Commander for Administration using Defense Travel Management Systems in accordance with all regulations.
