I am dedicated to supporting emotional, social, and academic development of young children. Trained in developmental stages and knowledgeable about offering safe, nurturing environments to boost learning. I have worked directly in the school system with young children for a total of around five years, aside from having a 13-year-old and 4 year old. I homeschooled my son during COVID-19 for around two years. I have substituted for teachers, and I've worked full-time at Bland County Public Schools as a Paraprofessional Educator. I helped children with ADHD, Autism, and other disabilities. I worked at a daycare called Noah's Ark when I was younger but it closed and I am not sure where it went or what happened.
While working as a paraprofessional educator full time, I took evening/night classes at Wytheville Community College to complete their two-year program (Associate of Arts and Sciences majoring in Education). During this time I spent many hours in the classroom as part of my education. From there I went to Concord University but not for long before I transferred to Liberty University. During my time at Concord, I did some of my student teaching at Bluefield Intermediate School. I've been taught how to write lesson plans and to also teach them to the class, as I have taught my own lesson plans to classes. I am trained with children by textbook and physically, also children with special needs, as my end goal was a Bachelor in Science Education with a minor in psychology. Once my son was born (he just turned 4 on September 25th), I decided to stay home with him and not work and wait to finish my degree as most of the credits I need to finish involve my classroom teaching hours.
I am detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. I believe I was born with this trait but working at the bank brought that out in me. I love working with children but I also have leadership skills. While working as head teller, I was in charge of my own drawer, the vault, and the ATM, as well as money going in and out of the bank. I was over four other tellers and feel that I was a good boss based off of their attitudes towards me and my boss' attitude towards me. During my time there, I went in before the sun rose and got the vault opened as it is a timed vault, got my computer up and running, start counting overnight deposits, etc. I was also able to open new accounts, checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, etc.
