• Lead CSSD operations.
• Ensures proper handling, tracking and safe distribution of sterile instruments and medical supplies following aseptic and infection control standards.
• Maintain quality control measures including biological, chemical, and mechanical monitoring.
• Troubleshoot sterilization process issues and prevent cross-contamination risks.

• Prepare and administer vaccines via appropriate routes (IM, SC, ID) according to clinical standards.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and temperature monitoring of vaccines (cold chain management).
• Accurately document administered vaccines in medical records or immunization systems.
• Provide clear information regarding vaccine benefits, risks, and schedules.
• Collaborate with physicians, public health teams, and other nurses to ensure smooth operations.

Labor Room Nurse

• Admits and assess laboring mothers, monitoring vital sign and fetal heart rate.
• Provide emotional support, breathing technique, comfort measures (like back massage, warm/cold compress/ touching / positioning)
• Prepares the patient equipment For delivery.

Delivery Room Nurse

• Assist the OB during delivery
• Prepares sterile instruments and delivery supplies as needed.

Operating Room Theater

Scrub Nurse:

• Prepare and arrange sterile instruments, suture, and supplies before surgery.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout operations.
• Assists the surgeon by passing the instruments, sponges, and other sterile items.

Circulating Nurse:

Document intraoperative nursing care, counts and events accurately. Provide additional supplies and support to the sterile team as needed. Coordinates communication with the team to make sure the operation runs smoothly. Ensures proper disposal of used materials and maintains OR cleanliness.

• Checks the patient in dentity, surgical consent and correct site or side before surgery
• Assist with positioning, skin prep, draping of the patient.

Labor Room

• Perform initial patient assessment (vital signs, fetal heart rate, contractions, obstetric history).
• Admit and prepare pregnant women for labor, including obtaining informed consent.
• Monitor labor progress using partogram and follow hospital protocols.
• Provide supportive care during labor (breathing techniques, positioning, pain management).
• Communicate patient status to obstetricians and midwives.
• Prepare the patient for delivery or emergency procedures when necessary.

Delivery Room

• Prepare sterile supplies, instruments, and delivery sets.
• Assist the obstetrician/midwife during normal spontaneous delivery (NSD) or high-risk deliveries.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and sterile field at all times.
• Perform immediate newborn care (APGAR scoring, suctioning, cord clamping, thermal management).
• Assist with emergency deliveries such as breech, C-section prep, or maternal complications.
• Ensure safe transfer of mother and newborn to the recovery or postpartum unit.

Operating Room

• Assist in surgical procedures for obstetric or gynecologic cases (e.g., Cesarean Section, D&C, myomectomy).
• Function as scrub nurse (instrumentation, maintaining sterility) or circulating nurse (documentation, preparation).
• Conduct pre-operative checks: patient identification, surgical site verification, consent, NPO status.
• Prepare OR room, surgical equipment, sutures, medications, and instruments.
• Participate in surgical counts (sponges, instruments, sharps).
• Monitor and record intra-operative events.
