Work History

Senior Structures Engineer

Pratt & Whitney
12.2020 - Current
  • Developed, released, and supported multiple PROD versions of the HCFLife tool, providing P&W engineers with up-to-date, single source-of-truth HCF Capability curves instantaneously.
  • HCF Lifing focal for the F135 ECU and B-52 contracts, including collaborative development of material characterization and verification test matrices to meet program and customer requirements.
  • Established and executed the test matrices for the HCF Unified Lifing Model to help build a more comprehensive assessment of a material's HCF capability and support early understanding of component effects in the design process.
  • Developed, standardized, and documented a statistical process to objectively compare multiple HCF data sets and determine similarity, eliminating non-value-added and inconclusive comparisons done previously.
  • Established and documented a risk-based procedure to guide Module Center engineers in determining if a HCF Test can be waived, reducing the burden on test facilities while preserving component integrity.
  • For multiple programs, both military and commercial, ensured engine/rig safety while allowing for continued testing through implementation of HCF damage accumulation assessments.
  • Performed, documented, and reviewed validation testing for ERS-Toolbox software, allowing for tangible assessment of real-part residual stress state in HCF fatigue assessment.

Structures Engineer

Pratt & Whitney
02.2018 - 12.2020
  • Developed, documented and released the integrated material life system for DA718, a rotor grade material.
  • Monitored, analyzed and provided insight into measured structural data at engine test under high pressure and intense conditions.
  • Standardized the assessment of a part's resonant allowable and documented in to engineering standard work.
  • Provided hands-on technical support and advice for high cycle fatigue lifing to all levels of personnel.
  • Automated the process of extracting high cycle fatigue test data to create material specific capability diagrams using VBA.
  • Performed structural and lifing assessment on lab specimens to simulate engine conditions that will be used to address legacy fleet issues.

Associate Structures Engineer

Pratt & Whitney
02.2016 - 02.2018
  • Constructed an optimization model to help design and analyze a new fan blade by balancing constraints and requirements using iSight.
  • Responded to customer requests and questions in a timely manner as a program focal lead.
  • Worked efficiently under strict deadlines to make sure that new programs were maintained, updated and distributed for scheduled releases.
  • Provided on-site technical training (ETU) for the PWLife computer program.
  • Supported the certification of a workflow to determine part life and presented at a technical advisory board meeting to chiefs and fellows. Documented instructions for the lifing workflow and helped train users.
