I have been so fortunate to be nominated twice. The first time the parents nominated me for teaching the social emotional lessons and facilitating small groups. The family added that "our son has special needs and she always takes the extra time to ensure his is applying the SEl skills and learning from in the moment Experiences." As a person with sudden sensory neuro hearing loss that left me profoundly deaf in my right ear, I always try to advocate for all student both general and special education. My second nomination was for advocating for mental health.
