Since 2018, I have served as the Director of Dental Services at WIHD, where I provide direct patient care while leading a comprehensive dental program dedicated to serving individuals with special needs. I oversee a department with five operatories and a multidisciplinary team of 22 staff members, including 11 dentists, two dental hygienists, five dental assistants, and three full-time front office professionals. In addition to my clinical and administrative responsibilities, I mentor and teach Touro dental students, helping them develop the skills and compassion needed to care for our unique and underserved patient population. I am committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative workplace where every team member feels valued, has a sense of belonging, and is empowered to contribute according to their individual strengths and talents. Our five-operatory clinic provides specialized dental care for patients with intellectual, developmental, physical, and medical complexities who often face significant barriers to accessing care. For patients whose needs cannot be safely met in the clinic setting, I coordinate and facilitate comprehensive dental treatment in the operating room, ensuring they receive the care they require in the safest and most appropriate environment. To further expand access to care, our program operates a mobile dental van equipped with two fully functional operatories that travels throughout New York State, bringing dental services directly to patients where they live. Through both our clinic and mobile program, my goal is to improve not only access to high-quality dental care but also the overall patient experience, ensuring compassionate, safe, and successful outcomes for every individual we serve.
