  • Employees in this position must be able to handle all species of animals including reptiles, amphibians, domestic, exotic, wildlife, livestock and insects.
  • Animal Handlers are responsible for interviewing adoption applicants, safely and tactfully resolving conflicts and confrontational situations, making informed decisions on animal adoptions and euthanasia, and must be able to effectively communicate to the public information on animal control laws, nuisance wildlife deterrents, proper pet care and training, disease recognition, preventative veterinary care required, behavior modification, etc.
