Annika Ferguson

Passionate and goal-oriented student at Durant High School looking to pursue a career in Music Education. I am persistent and confident, and I always persevere rather than quit. I have three years of experience in being one of the student leaders in The Pride of Durant; one of those years being the head of leadership. My strengths as a leader include being able to remain calm and confident during adversity, the ability to problem solve, and uniting a group of people to achieve the same goal.

a. Three time 2nd alternate alto saxophone at OkMEA All-State, or 10th in the state

b. 1st alternate alto saxophone at OkMEA All-State Jazz, or 3rd in the state senior year

c. Earned 6 year medal at SEOBDA All-District for making the honor band all 6 years; 7th grade to senior year

TMALA (Texoma Marching Arts and Leadership Academy) Summer Band Camp 

• 4 days of leadership and conducting training for being a drum major
• worked with peers from my own school and those from other schools
• 1st place Winner of the TMALA 2023 Solo Conducting Competition
• Earned the Outstanding Drum Major award; one of three who were chosen

• Attended to customers over the phone and made sure I could satisfy the customers
• Observed the customers' demeanor to know how to give the best experience to each table
