Work History

Tech Lead

Schneider National, Inc
01.2019 - Current

At Schneider I lead a team of developers that uses a combination of extensive programming backgrounds and advanced AI models to develop software with technologies such as Springboot, Python, Kubernetes, and Kafka. Beyond this I also work with Analysts, Solution Leads, and Architects from other teams within the organization to define and solution projects, maintain systems, and communicate needs. During my tenure as Tech Lead my team has consistently delivered new projects and our support hours are at historic lows.

  • Use planning tools such as Rally and Microsoft teams to coordinate a team of developers
  • Build microservices and data producers/consumers using Python and Java frameworks
  • Orchestrate microservice scaling and management with Kubernetes
  • Transfer data via Databases, queues, and data streaming (Firestore, MySQL, SQS, AMQP, Apache Kafka)
  • Monitor platform health with Bugsnag, Dynatrace, Sonarqube, ELK, and code reviews

Web Developer

Cellcom
11.2017 - 11.2019

Working at Cellcom was my first opportunity to be a part of a true development team. As one of four developers building an e-commerce site for a regional cell service provider we collaborated daily to solution, build, and update the company website, portal, and future e-commerce capabilities of the business. I love collaboration and this team provided a fantastic blend of individual autonomy and group dynamics.

  • Build a monolith ecommerce solution with the PHP Laravel framework
  • Implement front-end design and functionality with VueJS
  • Local environment replication using Vagrant

Web Developer

DMI Studios (Now Konect)
07.2008 - 11.2017

DMI is where I cut my teeth on developing technology. We specialized in custom solutions for local clients using our in-house CMS. Projects would have me working directly with Sales, a Project Manager, and a Designer. After ten years of working with this company I was still one of the junior-most developers. It really was a great place to work.

  • Use PHP daily for server-side logic
  • Utilize both custom CMS and Wordpress for building websites
  • Utilize Sass for CSS and to simplify responsive design elements
