What I did as a QA. I would go to each running line check, measure, and inspect the profile, making sure all tolerance's were met and product met or exceeded customers expectations before it got shipped out.
Different types of profiles I worked with would be either Rail, Post, Panel, as well as picket, and U-Channel.
I would also check the color of the profile, whether it would be White, Sand, Clay, or Gray. I would also check color on wood grain, as well.
Dark sequoia, Weathered Aspen, Driftwood, Coastal Cedar, and Dark Walnut are all the wood grains I would check.
Impact test each profile, as well as collect a foot-long sample of the product that was being produced that day.
Spec Sheets: Each profile had a different specification. With the foot-long sample, I would use it to measure and check the thickness of the walls, as well as the cap of the material. Additionally, I would assess how tight the legs would be for the rails, as well as pickets.
I would weigh the profile.
Check the speed of the profile.
Gloss, check the profile.
Surface inspections would consist of making sure there was no Cal-Marks, Pits, Wavy Legs, Up/Down Bow, Creases, Cap Line, Burn Line, Chipping, Cracks, or any surface blemishes.
