
Chicago police officer with 34 years of service. First 14 years assigned to the patrol division. Responded to ever changing assignments. Routinely had to listen and problem solve many situations. Criminal investigations led to many detailed reports submitted. Attended community meetings and verbally communicated what was happening in their community and compassionately listening to their concerns. The last 20 years was assigned to the Evidence and Recovered Property Section. Was responsible for the secure maintenance and control of all incoming narcotic inventories. At the same time, research was conduced to determine what narcotic inventories could be disposed. Process had to be completed to securely dispose of said inventories. Was also the liaison between the CPD detectives, Cook County States Attorneys, and the Illinois State Police crime lab. Duties included the approval of what inventories to be sent for testing and providing the secure transportation of said inventories. Had to problem solve many issues and communicate solutions to the proper personnel. Attended monthly supervisor meetings at the ISP crime lab. Problems were discussed and resolved between all the different agencies. Issues were constantly brought up to discuss future procedures.
